Duniya Vijay, known for his success as an actor, director, and producer, is now introducing his second daughter, Monisha, to the film industry. While his elder daughter has already made her debut, it’s now Monisha’s turn to shine. With the movie “City Lights,” Monisha is making an impressive entry into cinema, with Vinay Rajkumar starring as the lead actor.
The grand muhurat of “City Lights” was held today at the Bandemahakali Temple. The event saw Raghavendra Rajkumar and his wife clapping the first shot to wish their son success, while Dr. Rajkumar’s former driver Hanumantu switched on the camera to bless the team. The ceremony was attended by notable personalities like Yuva Rajkumar, Ninasam Satish, Naveen Shankar, Praveen Tej, Loose Maada Yogi, K Manju, B Suresh, KP Sreekanth, Umapathi, and many others, who wished the team the very best.
Interestingly, “City Lights” is directed by none other than Vijay himself. Along with taking on the responsibility of directing his daughter’s debut film, he is also producing it. The first look of the movie, which was released earlier, has already gone viral, and the newly released poster has further piqued curiosity. The tagline, “Jawabdari Deepagalu” (Lamps of Responsibility), adds a meaningful dimension to the title. It signifies providing light and guidance to today’s youth through a sense of responsibility.

Vinay Rajkumar is set to appear in a fresh and unique role in “City Lights.” His recently released look gives a glimpse of his intriguing character. Meanwhile, Monisha is stepping into a challenging role in her debut film, and her on-screen chemistry with Vinay looks promising.
Speaking after the muhurat, Vinay expressed his excitement, saying, “I’ve always wanted to work with Vijay Sir, Charan Raj, and Maasti. It’s finally happening. The story revolves around two individuals who move to Bengaluru from a village and face various challenges.” Monisha shared her thoughts, saying, “I’ve received a great role in this film. I studied acting in London and am preparing intensively for this character.”
Duniya Vijay, the director, shared his vision, saying, “I’ve handed over the lamps of responsibility to my two daughters, Monisha and Monica. I have faith that they’ll uphold it. Vinay is a wonderful person, like a soul mate to me. Growing up watching Rajkumar Sir’s films, it’s a privilege to now direct his grandchildren. I’ve built my career alone, without support, driven solely by my determination.”
Previously, Vijay explored the nuances of urban life in his films “Salaga” and “Bheema.” With “City Lights,” he aims to unveil another layer of city life. The dialogues by Maasti and music by Charan Raj, which were pivotal in his earlier films, are expected to recreate the same magic. Additionally, the film introduces several new talents, with notable appearances.
