The nationally renowned actor Thara Anuradha takes on another powerful role in the teaser for “Chikkiya Muguthi,” which was revealed on a well-attended Sunday morning by Smt Ashwini Puneeth Rajakumar.
Director Devika Janitri, a close friend of Appu and Ashwini Puneeth Rajakumar, has embraced a unique concept for this film, which is based on her own novel and is centered on women. The film delves into the challenges faced by women during their struggles, including acts of atrocity, with a particular focus on the concept of identity, symbolized by the nose.
The cast of the film includes Thara, Shwetha Srivatsa, Bhavani Prakash, Avinash, Ranganaya Raghu, Tabala Nani, Bharat Boppanna, and others.
National award-winning actor Thara, speaking at the event, reflected on the Prime Minister of India’s introduction of a reservation bill for women and noted the presence of strong female representation in the film’s team. She also praised Devika’s directorial skills, emphasizing that she did not appear to be a first-time director, but rather an experienced professional on set.
Shwetha Srivatsa, who is returning to acting after giving birth to a child, expressed her happiness about the film, and Bhavani Prakash, another accomplished actor, echoed her sentiments.
Devika, who previously worked as a costume designer and authored over 40 novels, is now adapting her first novel for the silver screen. The film is currently in the post-production stage, with plans for release by the end of this year. The teaser for the film is now available on PRK YouTube.
