During the jubilant celebration of the 25th anniversary of the record-breaking Kannada film ‘A,’ the film’s heroine, Dr. Chandini, was in high spirits. Fluent in Kannada, her speech at the event was well-received, showcasing her deep knowledge and connection to the industry.

The talented and humble Dr. Chandini expressed her interest in creating a sequel to the iconic film ‘A,’ with the screenplay and other preparatory work already underway. “I join producer Manjunath in urging Upendra to direct ‘A 2.’ We are finalizing the story with a talented team, and Gurudut is working on the dialogues. I might even beg Upendra for his acceptance,” she mentioned.

Reflecting on her debut, Dr. Chandini recalled, “I was a teenager studying in New York when I received the offer for ‘A.’ With my parents’ support, I accepted. Upendra, with his unique vision, always wanted me to appear on camera without makeup. ‘A’ was a significant turning point in my life, and although I have acted in many films across various languages, ‘A’ remains unforgettable.”

When asked if she is ‘A-Lone,’ Chandini revealed she has someone special in mind and plans to marry next year. “I was involved in various roles at Sony Channel and engaged in agricultural science, keeping me very busy. Now, I’m ready to choose a partner in life,” she added with a smile.

Producer Manjunath reminisced about the original film, made 25 years ago with Jagannath, noting that it generated over Rs. 23 crore in business. Gurukiran expressed gratitude, calling ‘A’ a pivotal film in his career. The anniversary event also saw participation from film crew members like V. Manohar, Guru Dutt, Loki, Rajaram, Joshi, and distributor Shankar, while Upendra shared his happiness via video from abroad.
