CHANDANA NAG TO DEBUT WITH BHARATANATYAM ARANGETRAM

Chandana Nag, daughter of actor-director B. Suresh and actress-producer Shailaja Nag, will be making her Bharatanatyam arangetram on April 20 at ADA Rangamandira, JC Road, Bengaluru. The performance will begin at 5:30 PM.

She has been learning Bharatanatyam under Sneha Kappanna at Bhramari Natyashale and previously trained for nearly a decade under Guru Bhanumathi. Chandana has performed at events including Hampi Utsav, Hosur Natyanjali, Sringeri Math, and national programs in Pune. She has cleared the Karnataka Education Board’s Senior Exam and the Visharad exam from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Pune, both with distinction.

The arangetram event will feature Guru Dr. Lalitha Srinivasan (Director, Nupura School of Bharatanatyam), Padma Shri awardee Prathibha Prahlad, and Guru Shubha Dhananjay (President, Karnataka Sangeetha Nritya Academy) as chief guests.

Chandana holds a degree in Visual Communication from St. Joseph’s College, Bengaluru. She has experience in acting, writing, directing, and theatre. Her play Kintsugi received the Best Original Script award at the 2024 Nataka Bengaluru Festival. She has acted in short films including Modalaneya Adhyaya, Bloody Domino, Sadgati, Unwanted Kid, and Panjarada Gili, and won Best Actress at the Praguni Short Film Festival in 2021. She has also worked in the direction team for the films Yajamana and Kranti.

Currently, she is part of the dance collective Sahachaari, which aims to promote constitutional values across Karnataka through Bharatanatyam performances.
