First of all, what is ‘Chaakna’? It is a non-vegetarian dish very famous in the Kalasipalya colony of Bengaluru city. Different parts of a goat are roasted and then served, chopped.

That’s okay. But why is this a cinema title? Director Palani explains that the film features four evil characters, all of whom deserve severe punishment by law. However, a rapist, drug peddler, thief, and a moronic drunkard remain scot-free in society today. They should be treated like ‘Chaakna,’ according to director Palani of RR Combines. His wife, Vimala, is the producer. By selling gold ornaments and borrowing loans from close family members, Smt. Vimala is fulfilling her husband Palani’s dream.

The director has been in social service for the last 33 years. He has worked on five Tamil films, acted in one Kannada cinema, and is now taking on a big task with ‘Chaakna’.

In the first phase of promotion, the film’s first look poster and teaser were unveiled by actor, producer, and director Priya Haasan, who attended at the insistence of noted stunt director Kaurava Venkatesh.

The positive and negative aspects in the movie will have a significant impact on society. Only when we convey a good message will society and the environment benefit. Director Palani advocates for changes in law and punishment to be similar to those in Arab countries.

As the director says, if you do well, God will be courteous. Yama himself comes forward to punish when one does something bad. Palani has chosen a horrific incident that took place in Pondicherry six months ago, using the harsh facts he witnessed to create this film. What happens when four negative characters—a ganja smoker, a drunkard, a thief, and a rapist—come together? The story unfolds in the family of a chalk shop owner. How can a man become fatal if he does not change based on circumstances? Crime is like blood; those who commit it should be punished. Crimes are reduced only when punishments are given that instill fear in potential offenders.

‘Bheema’ fame Dragon Manju is likely to play an important role. Director Palani will also appear as a graveyard maintainer in the film.

The cast includes Cockroach Sudhi, Giri, Madhusree, Sreekumar, Suresh Babu, Sathyan, YV Krishnappa, Venkatesh, Murthybhimarajan, Ravi, Sunilkumar, Karnaprabhu, Venugopal, Muniswamy, Annadorai, Mohan, Vijayjaggi, S. Velu, Ganga, Sudha, Mamata, Sunita, Indra, and others.

Music is by Kalki Abhishek, cinematography by Randheera Nayak, dialogues by Raghav Maharshi, dance by Akash Seshadri, and lyrics by Kavikumar. The team plans to start shooting soon.
