Discovering water in a desert oasis – an analogy that resonates with the current state of the film industry. The once joyous 50-day, or even 25-day, festivities now seem like a distant mirage under the spotlight. With the dominating presence of OTT platforms, they secure rights for film releases as early as the 48th day. Only a few, like ‘Kantara’, manage to forge ahead despite this parallel competition.
A notable milestone, the 50th-day celebration of Agrasena took place at SRV Theater on a Monday morning. Amidst the absence of Director Murugesh Kannappa, Hero Amar Viraj, veteran actor Ramakrishna, and co-actor for the second lead, Bharathi, the celebration persevered. The audience’s enthusiastic response was vividly captured through visuals.
Meenakshi, a co-actor in her impressive 125th film, vocally expressed her dissatisfaction with the director’s absence, sparking a controversial moment. Another supporting actor, Manmohan, advised her to reconsider her words. However, Agasthya Belegere alias Krishnamurthy, who delivered a remarkable performance, viewed Meenakshi’s criticism as a blessing. He acknowledged the personal struggles he overcame and revealed that Director Murugesh was hospitalized due to health issues, yet he provided a video message for the 50-day event.
Producers Mamata Jayarama Reddy and Jayarama Reddy expressed their contentment, hinting at favorable future prospects for ‘Agrasena’. Mamata praised PRO Nagendra, likening him to a fatherly figure, and announced his continued involvement in upcoming projects.
The event saw the presence of various team members including Sridhar Krupa, Prashanth Reddy, Man Mohan, Shashidhar Gowda, Sudha, Ravikumar, and Ranjit. Chief guests Sri Lakshminarayana Shastri Vasthu expert, Hoodi Vijayakumar, and others graced the 50-day celebration of the Kannada cinema ‘Agrasena’.
Undoubtedly, the standout beneficiary of ‘Agrasena’ is Agasthya Belegere, having secured four film contracts due to his exceptional performance. Amidst controversy, senior PRO Nagendra adeptly managed to diffuse tensions and restore a harmonious atmosphere.
