The Kannada film Capital City, starring Rajeev Reddy in the lead role, is set to release on July 4. Directed by R Anantha Raju, the film features senior actor Ravishankar in a key role.
Produced under the banner of Infinity Creations, Capital City marks director R Anantha Raju’s return after films like Appu Pappu, Mast Maja Maadi, and Nanda. This is Rajeev Reddy’s next lead role after Zindagi.
Speaking at a press meet held to share details about the film, the team provided insights into its making and release plans.
Senior actor Ravishankar, who was the first to speak, said the journey of this film was good. “From what I have seen, Rajeev Reddy’s performance is impressive. I play a unique character in this film. I hope everyone supports the film which is releasing on July 4,” he said.

Director R Anantha Raju said this is his 11th directorial venture. “Though I’ve known Ravishankar for many years, this is the first time I’ve worked with him. The film turned out the way we envisioned it, thanks to the support of the producers and the whole team. It revolves around the underworld of Bengaluru and is set in the 1990s. The central plot focuses on how the troubled protagonist deals with his challenges. Though the film is in the action genre, it includes all essential elements for the audience,” he explained.
Rajeev Reddy plays the male lead, while Prerana stars as the female lead. The cast also includes senior actors such as Suman, Ravishankar, Sharath Lohitashwa, and K.S. Sridhar. Some of the producers, including Colonel Rajendra, have also acted in the film.
“It’s a revenge story that explores how one protects themselves when pushed into hardship,” said Rajeev Reddy. “It was a pleasure to act alongside senior actors like Ravishankar and Suman. We request everyone to watch and support the film,” he added.
Producers Manjunath, Krishnamurthy, and Colonel Rajendra said the film has come out well with the collective effort of the entire team. Capital City will release in over 200 theatres on July 4. They urged audiences to watch the film in cinemas. Music director Nag and cinematographer Pradeep were also present at the press meet.
