One of the prolific writer, director, actor and father of two sons Venkat Bharadwaj and Lakshman Bharadwaj who are in the field of cinema making a good name – C V SHIVASHANKER dies of a heart attack on Tuesday afternoon. He was 90 years of age. His dream of ‘Kannada Kuvara’ directed film is yet to be released.

The popular and ‘Khatta Kannada’ admirer treated the land ‘Chandanavana’ with songs like Sirivanthanadaru Kannada Naadalli Mereve … .Beladide Noda Bengaluru Nagara and many others in his career spanning over 60 years in Kannada cinema.

Eldest son Venkat Bharadwaj (director of half a dozen films and producer) brought the body of his father CVS tohis Uttarahalli residence for Kannada cinema industry to pay last respect.

CV Shivashanker entered as child actor from Veera Sankalpa and went on as an actor in School Master, Rathnagiri Rahasya, Krishna Garudi, Dharma Vijaya, Rathnamanjari, Asha Sundari and others. VS worked under many stalwart directors to become a director from ‘Mane Katti Nodu’. Padavidara, Namma Ooru, Mahadiya Mane, Hoysala, Mahatapasvi, Veera Mahadeva, Kannada Kuvara are some of his yesteryear films. CV Shivashanker is winner of Karnataka Rajyotsava award, Puttanna Kanagal award, Dr Raj Souharda award etc in his life. The entire Kannada cinema industry offered respect for the departed soul.
