The etymology of ‘Brahma Rakshasa’ is rooted in the mythological fusion of a Brahmin and Rakshasa. However, in the contemporary era of ‘Kaliyuga,’ the term takes on a completely different narrative.

Shankar V, who initially entered the film industry as a light technician and collaborated with various directors, has now evolved into an independent director for the Jyothi Arts banner, produced by KMP Srinivas.

Ankush Ekalavya, Pallavi Gowda, and Vyjyanath Biradar take center stage in this film, and the recently released teaser was unveiled by producer Srinivas.

Reflecting on his past release, ‘Kaliveera,’ where the timing was amiss, Producer Srinivas expresses remorse. Having learned valuable lessons, he is now applying them to the release of ‘Brahma Rakshasa,’ a film replete with suspense, action, thrill, and five songs.

Veteran actress Bhavya, portraying the protagonist Ekalavya’s mother, commends Director Shankar and Ekalavya for their versatility in handling diverse roles.

Vyjyanath Biradar assumes a distinctive role in this film, a departure from his roles spanning three decades. Action director Thriller Manju emphasizes the significance of the producer’s passion, asserting that this film matches the quality of any top-notch production. Ekalavya’s performance evokes memories of Jackie Chan, as noted by Thriller Manju, the senior-most action director.

Addressing the media, Ekalavya reveals that the film is set in the 1980s. Recognizing Director Shankar’s talent, he introduced him to the producer, highlighting the successful outcome despite initial challenges.

Pallavi Gowda, who plays the girlfriend turned wife to the protagonist Ekalavya, discloses that the film is shot predominantly in night sequences.

Director Shankar, reminiscing about his impoverished past, expresses disbelief at his journey to the world of cinema. Despite facing financial struggles, he passionately crafted three short films, funding them by selling his mother’s ornaments. ‘Brahma Rakshasa’ stands as a lavishly produced film, blending revenge and a powerful message. The cinematography is handled by Anirudh, and the music is composed by MS Thyagaraj.

The supporting cast includes Aravind Rao, Swapna, Purushottam, Bala Rajawadi, Rathavara Devru, Bhuvan Gowda, Chikka Hejjaje Mahadev, Shivanandappa Havanur, among others.
