The teaser of the upcoming Kannada film Bande Saheb, based on the life of martyred police officer P.S.I. Mallikarjun Bande, was officially released at an event held recently. Actor Sharan unveiled the teaser in the presence of several notable guests, including director Tarun Sudhir, MLA Raju Gowda, and D.S. Max’s Dayanand.
The film draws inspiration from the real-life incident in which officer Mallikarjun Bande lost his life during a police operation in Gulbarga a few years ago while attempting to apprehend a rowdy-sheeter. Directed by debutant Chinmay Ram, the film has completed shooting and post-production work, and is expected to release soon.
During the teaser launch, a song dedicated to the late actor Puneeth Rajkumar was also released by Tarun Sudhir and Raju Gowda. Speaking at the event, members of the film team shared their experiences working on a story rooted in recent history.
Producer Gopanna Dodmani, along with Kamala Dodmani and Mala V. Koralli, has produced the film under the banner of Mallige Cine Combines. Veeranna Koralli, who also plays a key role in the film, has written the story, screenplay, and dialogues. Lead actor Santosh Ram portrays the role of Mallikarjun Bande, while Kavya Bharadwaj plays the female lead.
The filmmakers mentioned that research for the script included spending time in Gulbarga and interacting with people who were close to the late officer. According to the team, the film attempts to present the professional and personal life of the officer in a realistic manner.
The cast also includes actors Farvez Simha and Veeranna Koralli. The cinematography is by Munjane Manju, music is composed by M.S. Tyagaraj, editing is handled by Sheshachala, and background score is by Alexa.
The teaser is now available online and has generated early interest due to its subject matter.
