The versatile and intelligent Anu Prabhakar, also known as Anu Mukherjee, is celebrating her 25th year in the cinema industry with a new milestone in the film “Hagga.” Directed by debutant Avinash, Anu takes on a superhero-like role in this film.

Anu, who began her career as a child actress, transitioned to leading roles with Dr. Shivarajakumar’s “Hrudaya Hrudaya.” Over the years, she has achieved great heights with her performances in quality films, earning state awards for her roles in “Shaapa” and “Parikshe.”

Her impressive filmography includes “Snehaloka,” “Soorappa,” “Srirastu Shubamasthu,” “Yarig Salutthe Sambala,” “Shaapa,” “Jamindaaru,” “Tavarige Baa Thangi,” “Olu Sar Bari Olu,” “Priti Prema Prayana,” “Hrudayavantha,” “Bisi Bisi,” “Parikshe,” “Kanakambari,” “Varsha,” and “Aatagara,” among others. She has consistently sought strong and sensible roles, showcasing her acting skills. Anu has also ventured into Tamil films and has had a successful stint on the small screen.

For the first time in her career, Anu is seen in an action mode in “Hagga.” She greatly admires director Avinash’s passion and clarity, noting that he is very specific about what he wants. This film is a different and challenging genre, supported well by producer Raj Baradwaj, with Dayal Padmanabhan joining to further elevate the project. Anu recalled that well-known producer R Chandru had suggested she make an action film long ago, and he is now the chief guest for the teaser release of “Hagga.”

Anu urged viewers to watch “Hagga” in theaters to find out whether her role is positive or negative. She also took a moment to appreciate her makeup artists, Ganga and Sunil, for their hard work. She mentioned the challenging makeup process, which took two hours before the shoot and another hour after the shoot to remove.

Anu promises that “Hagga” will be full of entertainment, featuring elements of “Novu,” “Kopa,” and “Kanneeru” for the first time. Reflecting on her career, she noted that the role of ‘Devi’ was slightly different from her previous roles.
