Films that tackle social upheavals tend to captivate Kannada audiences. When such a story is framed in a different genre, especially in a purely commercial manner, the tension is heightened. The recently released trailer of the movie Anshu seems to embody such intensity.

Anshu is a female-led film set for release soon. The trailer effectively builds curiosity, keeping the focus on the film’s core essence.

Nisha Ravikrishnan, who gained popularity through her role as Amulya in the Gattimela series, plays the lead role. In this trailer, she steps beyond her serial persona, showcasing a much broader range.

Anshu marks the directorial debut of MC Chennakesava. The trailer raises intriguing questions, starting with the phrase, “What we believe is not true; ‘sahisok Agde Iroda’ is not false.” Additionally, the filmmakers have revealed some fascinating insights, describing the movie as a psychedelic thriller. It appears to effectively reflect contemporary societal issues. The trailer stands as evidence of the film’s momentum.

This movie is produced under the Grahana LLP banner. Key figures in the production include Ratan Gangadhar, Sampath Sivashankar, and Kriti Nanaiah. Chaluvaraj, known for his roles as a villain in Bajrangi 2 and Veda, and now active in Bollywood, has also contributed to the production. Other contributors include Jaichandra, Pramod Dr. Madhuraj, and Veeran Gowda.

The first look teaser of Anshu was released earlier. Dr. Madhuraj, a doctor based in London, was so impressed by the teaser that he joined the production team.

Director Chennakesava, who completed a filmmaking course at St. Joseph’s University, has given a commercial twist to a sociological narrative.

Sunil Narasimhamurthy, who has worked on films like the Tamil movie Doodi and Kannada’s Garuda Purana, is the film’s cinematographer. KC Balasarangan, who has experience working as a programmer with GV Prakash and Vidyasagar, has composed the music, while new talent Vignesh has provided the background score.

Mahendra Gowda has penned the dialogues and lyrics. Two songs written by him have already been released to positive reception, with another set to be released soon. Following that, the film Anshu will make its way to the audience.
