The proud son-in-law of Dr. Bharathi Vishnuvardhana and Dr. Vishnuvardhana—Anirudh Jathakar—is brimming with happiness as he continues the legacy with care and caution. With a major responsibility on his shoulders in enacting the ‘Suryavamsha’ mega-serial for Udaya TV, Anirudh Jathakar is also spending his time in a useful manner.
In a rare chat, this handsome actor spoke about the health of Padmasri Dr. Bharathi Vishnuvardhana, his family, and his interests in writing, as well as the ongoing work at the Dr. Vishnuvardhana Memorial in Mysuru.
Anirudh Jathakar is a columnist in the prestigious newspaper, the Deccan Herald, and he continues his writing skills in English, coming out with a fictional novel. It is almost finished, and the process of releasing it takes some time, he says.
In the autobiography of Dr. Vishnuvardhana (an actor of over 200 films and a legend of Kannada cinema), Anirudh says his wife Keerthivardhana and journalist Nandakumar are working on it, and it will be presented in an attractive style. On the interests of his children, son Jyeshta and daughter Shloka – Anirudh says both are interested in the art field. As my wife Keerthi is a known fashion designer, the two children are obviously interested in art as well. Jyeshta is in his second year of degree, and Shloka is in PUC. They have chosen the Mass Communication segment for one of their chapters of study.
Anirudh Jathkar, with a gold-laced wristwatch of Dada Sahasasimha Dr. Vishnuvardhana on one hand and the steel bangle on the other hand (Steel bangle presented to Dr. Vishnu by a fan decades ago), says the work at the memorial of ‘Apporu’ (Dr. Vishnuji) is in progress. We are looking for a talented person to take care of various programs and plans envisaged by the government and family members. We are hoping for film festivals, theater festivals, workshops, seminars, etc., at this place, says Anirudh.
On the most cherished FTI branch at this Dr. Vishnuvardhana Memorial, a smile comes on the face of Anirudh as it is his dream at a slow pace.
Asked about the health condition of Dr. Bharathi Vishnuvardhana, Anirudh stated that the knee pain ailment is slowly coming down, and ‘Amma’ is walking inside the house. We are very confident of full recovery, he says.
On his career that has completed 23 years (since Chitte Kannada film in 1991) after a mega-hit of ‘Jothe Jotheyali’ and exit from the team, Anirudh has finished ‘Chef Chidambara’ and taken up a mega-serial ‘Suryavamsha’ for Udaya TV. He has spoken to the management and team about maintaining fine quality as long as the mega-serial is on air.
