Everyone remembers the laugh riot Amrutanjan short movie. People enjoyed it a lot and laughed their hearts out. Now, the same team has made a feature film.

Director Jyothi Rao Mohith says there is a big difference between the ‘Amrutanjan’ short movie and the ‘Amrutanjan’ feature film. Before this, I had made a movie called ‘Sodabuddi’, which failed. After that, when I was without work, I made a short movie—that was ‘Amrutanjan’. It became history. Later, while thinking of what to do next, we decided to make ‘Amrutanjan’ itself as a big-screen movie. We have done everything that is required for a film format.

You can have 100% expectations on this film as well. We worked so deeply that we sat and wrote the story for one full year, rehearsed for three months, and worked with the same team. While watching the movie, you can laugh wholeheartedly 40–45 times. In every scene, importance has been given to comedy. Whatever new things we gave in the short film, here too we have given some new elements to the audience.

We have carried a dialogue: “If I stop drinking, will you stop wearing makeup?” Apart from that, the story flow itself is very new. Every father and mother thinks they should do things this way for their children.

When we started making the movie, people said, “You are short film makers; if you make it like a short film, no one will watch the movie. Viewers who watch on mobile won’t come to theatres. This won’t work.” We faced many such challenges. Normally, when you try to do something new, such comments are very common. The film has been censored. If there were any corrections, they would have called us inside and told us. But instead, they themselves came, shook hands, and said, “You have made the movie very well.” That itself has become a plus point.

Whether it is family audiences or youth, it won’t bore anyone. This movie will be like a stress buster. If you are troubled by something in life, come to our movie—you will go back laughing wholeheartedly. We give that assurance.

There are montage songs in this movie. If 80% is comedy, 10–15% is emotions. There are strong emotions about the father–son relationship. We have taken songs according to what the story needs. The shooting has been done in Bengaluru, Mangaluru, and Udupi regions.

Director Jyothi Rao Mohith has made a movie with the name of a successful short movie. The film is now ready for release, and the team has assured that it will make audiences laugh from the heart.
