Delving into the trials and tribulations of tribal existence, “Adavi” places significant emphasis on the principles laid out in the Indian Constitution by Dr. Ambedkar. Scheduled for release on January 19, this Kannada film, under the direction of Tiger Nag for Constitution Cine Combines, unfolds a narrative shot amidst lush forest locations, ensuring an authentic and natural ambiance. Tiger Nag recently hosted a preview of “Adavi,” attended by key figures from the judiciary, social activists, and individuals associated with the film.

Tiger Nag reflects on the challenges faced by tribal communities, asserting that their struggle encompasses not only survival but also livelihood. “Adavi,” a sincere portrayal, encountered obstacles during the certification process. Tiger Nag exposed the bribe solicited by the Bengaluru censor board, sparking a significant controversy. Despite resolving the financial demands, a dispute arose when the censor officer claimed that the film glorified Dr. BR Ambedkar. Unwilling to compromise, Tiger Nag sought intervention from CBI officials, leading to the arrest of the censor member.

The lead role of Sidda is portrayed by Mohan in his fourth film, while Shilpa embodies Malli, an innocent tribal girl, and Arundhati takes on the role of a character passionately in love with Sidda. Harshika portrays Sidda’s mother, adding complexity to her character. Arjun Palegar assumes the role of the villain.

Manju Mahadev, along with Kaushik, composes the film’s music. Notably, one of the three songs, written by veteran artist V Manohar, marks his 2500th creation in his illustrious four-decade career. Santosh Dev contributes another poignant song. The film’s soundtrack includes a composition released on YouTube by renowned Tamil director Pa Ranjith.

Following the premiere show, directors Nagendra Magadi Pandu, Jeeva Naveel, and Chandru Obaiah lauded Tiger Nag’s directorial efforts.
