The teaser of the action thriller Phoenix has been released. The film takes inspiration from the mythological Greek bird Phoenix, which is believed to rise again from its ashes. The film is built on the idea that just as there are people who are deceived, there are also deceivers—often more in number.
The film has been written, directed, and conceptualized by Hosur Venkat. The audio and teaser launch event took place at the premises of the Film Artists’ Association. The film is produced by Srinivas C. from Hosur under the banner of Gokul Krishna Films. Music is composed by A.T. Ravish, and cinematography is by Gopi, Sabarmati, and Gautham.
Speaking at the press conference held before the event, director Hosur Venkat said that he had earlier directed a film titled Gadi. He mentioned that producer Srinivas is a friend of his and that Phoenix is based on a real incident. The film carries a message cautioning people not to fall into traps set by strangers without proper identity or familiarity. He added that the film conveys a useful message to the youth. The shooting was done over a span of 45 days in and around Udupi, Mangalore, Goa, and Bengaluru.
When asked whether the title Phoenix was already being used by senior director Om Prakash Rao, Venkat responded that they had informed him about it at the beginning but had not received any reply. He said that if the issue is brought up for discussion, they will decide on further steps accordingly.
Producer Srinivas said he is originally a developer and has known the director for 15 years. He decided to back the film after hearing the story. He also plays a role in the film. The storyline portrays how people fall for fraud due to excessive greed. He added that the film has an action-thriller plot with a forest backdrop.
Lead actor Pratap Simha said this is his sixth film. He previously acted in a film titled Stabdha. He stated that the script of Phoenix was inspired by a real-life incident that occurred in Salem. He said the film begins with an adventurous tone and continues with action sequences.
Co-producer Sunil Kumar said that apart from producing, he has also played the role of the antagonist. He stated that the film has a different screenplay.
Actress Yashaswini Gowda, who has acted in five to six films, plays a daring, villain-shaded and challenging role in Phoenix.
Actress Rakshita stated that she plays the lead role in the film. Actress Khushi said she portrays a rugged police officer. Actress Nandini and actor Jagadish Kopp also spoke about their roles.
Music director A.T. Ravish said this is his 50th film. He mentioned that the film includes five songs, and that one song along with the teaser is being released at the event.
