Under the banner of Chaumuda, Jayaram C. Malur has produced his first film, Rajarathnakara, which is now ready for release. The film’s trailer has been launched, featuring Chandan Raj in the role of a complete rebel. The lead character believes that earning money is the only necessity—even if it leads to complications within the family.
Apsara plays the female lead in the film. However, she passed away before the film’s release. The entire team paid tribute to her. On behalf of Apsara, her father shared memories and spoke about the dreams his daughter had.
Speaking about the film, director Viresh Bommasagar said, “It’s been 10–12 years since I entered the film industry, but this is my first film as a director. This story is apt for everyone. There is always such a person in every household. So the audience will connect with this film.”
Producer Jayaram, who is also a farmer by profession, said, “The reason I made this film is the story itself. There is emotion in every relationship—whether it is that of a mother, son, friend, or lover. I am happy about that.”
Lead actor Chandan Raj said, “It is my fortune to get a story like this. I always wanted to work on native, rooted stories. As someone born and raised in Bengaluru, I wanted to make a film that reflects this region’s flavour.”
Yamuna Srinidhi, who plays the role of the mother in the film, said, “The way Viresh Sir explained the character convinced me to take up this role. I have played mother roles before, but this one is different. When the audience sees it on screen, they will be able to connect with it.”
Chetan Durga said, “Until now, I have been doing comedy roles, but this time it is a completely different kind of character. I play the hero’s good friend—a silent type. If an actor wants to be recognised as a complete artiste, they need such roles. I have found such a role here.”
The film also features Nagaraj Rao, Yamuna Srinidhi, Chetan Durga, Siddu, Dingri Naresh and others in key roles.
