Lakshmi Harish of RSP Productions, part of the RSP Group of Companies, is producing the film “Usiru,” a suspense-thriller. Several new producers and technicians have recently entered the Kannada film industry with an interest in cinema, and Lakshmi Harish is among them. The shooting of “Usiru” has been completed, and post-production work is in its final stage. Tilak and Priya Hegde play the lead roles in this film, which has been written and directed by Prabhakar, who has also provided the screenplay.
Actors Srinagar Kitty and Ravi R. Garani recently released the teaser of the film and conveyed their wishes to the film team.
The story of “Usiru” revolves around how a police officer saves his wife from a dangerous individual. The film has been shot in and around Bangalore, Madikeri, Chikmagalur, and Mudigere.
Producer Lakshmi Harish said that the film was made with the theme that what one hears or sees might be false, but the truth becomes clear upon careful thought. She mentioned that they liked the storyline when Prabhakar narrated it to them and that the film is now in its final DI (Digital Intermediate) stage.
Director Prabhakar stated that directing has been his dream for 12 years. Having previously worked as an assistant director for a couple of Tamil films, “Usiru” marks his directorial debut. He said that the relevance of the title “Usiru” for this suspense-thriller will be understood after watching the film. According to him, the film was made with a solid team on a grand scale and contains all kinds of emotions. Each character has its own identity and importance, and no character appears without purpose. The film deals with themes such as marital love and friendship and carries the tagline 07.08.09. Tilak plays a police officer, and Priya Hegde plays his wife.
Actor Tilak Shekar said that he plays an investigation officer in the film. He stated that he had not come across such a concept before and that the code word 07.08.09 and other interesting elements are included in the film.
Actress Priya Hegde mentioned that her character in the film has several shades, including that of a wife. She said that her role brings a major twist to the story. She also expressed happiness about working with a female producer and shared that the producers had approached her after seeing her previous Telugu film. She added that the film was completed after overcoming several challenges.
Music director R.S. Ganesh Narayanan said that “Usiru” marks the 25th year of his film career, which began with the movie “Heartbeat.” The film includes five songs across different genres. He noted that Abhi has written good lyrics and that every character has been given a distinct theme. The film, according to him, features a fast screenplay and avoids boredom.
Actors Santosh, Apoorva, villain Arun, and poet-dialogue writer Bairavarama also spoke about the film.
