Filmmaker and actor Aura Rohit has announced his second project titled Sahyadri, following his debut film Aura. The announcement comes after a two-year period during which Rohit and his team focused on understanding both the creative and business aspects of cinema.
Sahyadri is categorized as a spiritual gangster film. The story revolves around a prematurely born child with an unusually high neuron count in the brain. As the child grows older, they evolve into a figure capable of resisting all forms of power.
The film will be shot entirely in Mangalore and is planned to be released in Kannada. It will later be dubbed into Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and English, with the title teaser already indicating a pan-India scope.
The project is being produced under the AR Films banner by Renuka P. N. Aura Rohit will write, direct, and act in the film. Vinod Lokannavar is serving as Director of Photography. He is an associate cameraman of William David, who has previously worked on projects including Vikrant Rona.
Music composition is by Navnath Vasudev, an associate of Ajaneesh Loknath. Editing and VFX work will be handled by Madesh Rajj. Kannada Pichhar is managing public relations.
The teaser launch will be followed by a muhurta, after which shooting will commence. The release of Sahyadri is currently scheduled for July 2026. Casting, promotions, and other parallel departments are in progress.
