‘Java Coffee’, a suspense thriller, is set to hit screens soon. The film marks the directorial debut of Sanvika, who also takes on the roles of producer and lead actor. Shining Star Ajay Vardhan plays the male lead.

The number of women directors in the Kannada film industry remains limited, and Sanvika now joins this group. Hailing from Kerala, Sanvika has chosen Kannada for her first directorial venture. In addition to directing and producing, she has taken charge of eight other departments in the film, including stunt direction and story writing.

The trailer and songs of Java Coffee were recently released, followed by a press meet where the cast and crew addressed the media.

Sanvika described Java Coffee as “a reflection of my dream and my mind.” She stated that directing a film had been a dream for the past fifteen years. “Although I am from Kerala, I chose to make my debut in Kannada. I have worked in nine areas of the film including direction, production, acting, story, screenplay, and stunt direction,” she said. Sanvika also credited associate director Vasant for assisting her in executing the project in Kannada.

The film, which has a suspense thriller backdrop, was shot in locations including Bengaluru, Mangaluru, and parts of Kerala. The first copy is now ready and will soon be screened for the censor board. The release date will be announced thereafter. Initially, the film will be released in Kannada, followed by a pan-India release in multiple languages.

Ajay Vardhan, who plays a journalist in the film, said this is his third film and commended Sanvika’s efforts in bringing the project together.

Cast members Manjunath, Pratima, Bhavani Shankar, Vijay Kumar, Ramachandra, and Ramalingappa, along with 18-year-old music composer Dhruva Devarayan and choreographer Palash Master, also shared their experiences working on Java Coffee. The film features three songs composed by Sridhar Karkera.
