The grand muhurtha (launch ceremony) of Sindhoori, produced by S. Ramesh (Banashankari), directed by Shankar Konamanahalli, and featuring Ragini Dwivedi and Dharma Keerthiraj in pivotal roles, was held at the renowned Banashankari Temple in Bengaluru on the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya. Members of the film team and several dignitaries were present at the ceremony. Later, the team shared details about the film.

“This is my fourth film as a director,” said Shankar Konamanahalli, announcing that filming will begin on May 10. The movie will be shot in a single 45-day schedule in Sakleshpur and other locations. “When people hear the title, they ask whether it’s about Rohini Sindhoori or D.K. Ravi. But this has no connection to Rohini Sindhoori. It’s a fictional murder mystery. Ragini and Dharma are not paired as a romantic couple. Ragini plays a turning point role in the story. During the shoot of my film Bingo, Ragini appreciated my work and expressed interest in collaborating again. I narrated a story, she liked it, the producer approved, and today the film is taking off. Dharma, usually seen in chocolate-boy roles, is playing a contrasting character here and is preparing intensely. We will soon reveal more about the heroine and other cast members.”

“About 7–8 years ago, I had made a film called Vicky. The director abandoned the project midway. I had to finish and release it myself. I had decided not to make films again. But then Shankar came and narrated this story. With Banashankari Amma’s blessings, we are launching the film on this auspicious day,” said producer S. Ramesh (Banashankari).

“The film has had a great start today. Making a female-centric film is always challenging. Drawing audiences to the theatre is tough. In such times, everyone is looking for fresh stories. To match today’s trend, we must change first. This story isn’t just extraordinary—it’s unique. Even the title carries a red hue. It’s intense. It embodies Durga’s power, Saraswati’s wisdom, and Lakshmi’s prosperity. Every character in the film is important. All engaging elements to hold the audience’s attention are included. We had already discussed this film during the Bingo shoot. It’s going to be an action commercial film,” said Ragini Dwivedi.

“Just by hearing the title, it may seem like a woman-centric film. I was happy to hear about my role. Ragini and I are not a pair in this film. There is a lot of tension and conflict between us. I’m glad to be working with such a solid team,” said actor Dharma Keerthiraj.

Actors Narayana Swamy, Rameez Rocky, cinematographer Rakesh C Tilak, music director Hithan Hassan, and dialogue writer Harish were present at the press conference.
