Fate has another name — dog. The film “Naanu Mattu Gunda – 2” tells the story of the relationship and pure love between such a dog (Gunda) and a boy. Under the banner of Poem Pictures, Raghu Hassan has written the story and screenplay, produced, and directed this film. The title song launch event for the film was recently held. Jogi Prem released this melodious song and offered his best wishes. Music composer R.P. Patnaik was also present at the event. Uniquely, hundreds of children from Prajakirana Seva Kiran Trust welcomed the guests with pink roses.
The film “Naanu Mattu Gunda – 2” is a sequel to the previously released and successfully screened “Naanu Mattu Gunda”, and is ready for release. Recently, the teaser of this film was launched by Vijay Kiragandur’s wife, Shailaja Kiragandur.
In this film, Rakesh Adiga plays the lead role while Rachana Inder plays the female lead. Master Yuvan appears as the younger version of Rakesh’s character.
Speaking on the occasion, Prem said, “Raghu has worked with me for many years. He is a good technician. Even if we work hard to make a movie, training a dog and making it act is no easy task. I had listened to this song earlier, and now I’ve seen the visuals — it’s excellent. I told Raghu it would be a hit the moment I heard it. The songs composed by R.P. Patnaik for the movie Excuse Me are evergreen even today. He is a musical magician who can create a melodic tune from a single line.”

R.P. Patnaik began his speech with the song “Neene Neene” from the film Aakash and said, “This is a wonderful story about the bond between a dog and a boy. I composed this song only after the dog (Gunda) listened to it and approved. I’ve seen Part 1, and the same emotions have carried over into this film as well.”
Director and producer Raghu Hassan said, “Our mentor Prem Sir came and launched this song. He liked the song instantly and said he himself would do the launch. R.P. has beautifully composed this soul song. The film’s first copy is already ready and will soon go for censor certification. Another song and the trailer will be launched soon.”
The film not only deals with a social concern but also contains divine content. Shooting has been done in and around Ooty, Shivamogga, Thirthahalli, and Balehonnur. R.P. Patnaik has composed six songs for the film. Tanvik has captured the visuals wonderfully. The movie is being released in five languages — Kannada, Telugu, and Hindi among them.
Lead actor Rakesh Adiga and child actor Jeevan, who played the role of a boy named Nayana, spoke about their roles.
The story will continue through the characters of Shankaran’s son and the dog Simbu. In addition to Simbu, another dog named Bunty also acts in the film.
The dialogues and lyrics are written by Rohit Raman, and the background score is composed by Ruthvik Muralidhar. Under the banner of Poem Pictures, Naanu Mattu Gunda – 2 includes editing by K.M. Prakash, lyrics by V. Nagendra Prasad and Raghu Hassan, choreography by Raghu, and sound design by Naveen.
