The upcoming Kannada film D D Dikki made a striking impression with its motion poster, unveiled on lead actor Nenapirali Prem’s birthday. The film marks the directorial debut of popular actress Ranjani Raghavan and is produced by Hampi Pictures in association with R K & A K Entertainment.
Written and directed by Ranjani Raghavan, the film features Prem in the lead role. Legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja scores the music, and Golden Star Ganesh’s son, Master Vihaan, plays a key role as Prem’s son.
Producer Jadesh K Hampi, known for Guru Shishyaru, Land Lord, and Kaatera, launches his production banner Hampi Pictures, named after his hometown Vijayanagara. He is joined by Ramakrishna and Anand Kumar under the R K & A K Entertainment banner.

The motion poster and title were unveiled in a celebratory event, which began with a patriotic song. Child actors from Guru Shishyaru revealed the title. Prem’s wife and daughter Aarti Belagavi marked the occasion by offering him sweets. Actor Ajay Rao, despite his film release, attended and wished Prem, adding a personal touch.
Industry veterans including Guru Deshpande, R.S. Gowda, Jagadish Gowda, Ravi Gowda, Krishna Sarthak, and Land Lord producer Suraj congratulated the team. Speaking at the event, Jadesh recalled how Ranjani had shared a book she wrote, which felt perfect for cinema. Tarun Sudhir encouraged the project, leading to Ranjani’s directorial debut with Prem onboard as the lead.
Ranjani expressed gratitude to the producers and shared her vision: a comedy-driven narrative with emotional depth. With four songs by Ilaiyaraaja and talkie portions halfway completed, she called it a music-driven film that she hopes audiences will embrace.

Prem admitted he initially rejected the project but was moved by the story when Tarun Sudhir narrated it. He praised Ranjani’s writing and Ilaiyaraaja’s score, noting that the film evokes deep emotions. He also commended Vihaan’s performance and said the story would resonate with those who’ve left their hometowns for the city.
Technical credits include cinematography by Sudhakar, editing by K.M. Prakash, and Tarun Sudhir as creative head. Actor Mahantesh and other crew members also shared their excitement at the event.
With a heartfelt story, fresh direction, strong performances, and a musical legend at its helm, D D Dikki is shaping up to be a promising addition to Kannada cinema.
