One of the humble and disciplined actors of over 100 films in South India, a bodybuilder with state, national, and international awards, Dr. A V Ravi is fulfilling his decade-and-a-half-long dream and announcing it on his birthday, 19th March 2025.
Dr. A V Ravi is, in fact, fulfilling the promise he made to his father, who passed away on August 15, 2011. He had promised his father in 2011 that he would take him to Kashi for the Vishwanatha Darshan, but sadly, his father’s demise deeply saddened the humble A V Ravi.
Ravi is personally visiting 101 people in the nooks and corners of five districts in Karnataka. Only those who are not financially equipped to get the Darshan of Lord Vishwanatha will be selected for a completely free Darshan. The districts he has chosen are Kolar, Haasan, Madikeri, Mysuru, and Chamarajanagar. This is his first attempt, and in the coming years, Ravi has plans to extend this to other districts.

For this birthday, Dr. A V Ravi has come up with an excellent thought, one that is indeed a very tough task. He is taking 101 elderly, poor, and downtrodden people from five districts of Karnataka to Kashi for Vishwanatha Darshan by flight and ensuring their safe return to their doorsteps.
This is the first-of-its-kind initiative, and perhaps no one in this subcontinent has thought of it before. It is completely free for 101 individuals. From their doorsteps, they will be brought to Bengaluru to catch the flight. All 101 people will receive good boarding and food facilities, along with sightseeing.
Dr. A V Ravi has been setting aside a share of his earnings since 2011, and he is utilizing that money for this grand purpose. He is fully aware of the risks involved and has built a dedicated team to take care of the 101 individuals throughout the journey.
With numerous accolades to his credit, A V Ravi was awarded an honorary doctorate by the Global Peace Foundation a few years ago. He has trained thousands of students in bodybuilding and has been rendering yeoman service in the social sphere.
A V Ravi, a Bharat Sri and Ekalavya award winner, has also won over 500 medals and certificates in his bodybuilding career. Over the last forty years, he has represented India at the international level in bodybuilding and is an icon in the Natural Bodybuilding arena.
For this noble initiative by Dr. A V Ravi, there has been tremendous support from various sections of society. He has taken up the responsibility of taking 101 individuals from five districts of Karnataka to Kashi, free of cost, from his personal savings.
