The much-awaited teaser of the epic film Kannappa, based on the mythological story of Kannappa, was unveiled at a special media event in Mumbai. Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, lead actor Vishnu Manchu, director Mukesh Kumar Singh, and several members of the film’s crew attended the event.
The occasion was marked by a heartfelt speech from the film’s executive producer, Vinay Maheshwari. The teaser, which has created a significant buzz, offers a glimpse into a grand historical narrative of devotion, sacrifice, and spectacle.
Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced by M. Mohan Babu, Kannappa blends its mythological roots with modern production techniques, aiming to take the audience on both a visual and emotional journey.
Akshay Kumar, who portrays Lord Shiva in the film, shared his thoughts on joining the project. “Initially, I wasn’t sure. I actually declined the offer twice. But Vishnu’s unwavering belief that I was the right person to bring Shiva to life on the big screen truly convinced me. The story is powerful and deeply moving, and the film has turned out to be a visual masterpiece. I am honored to be part of this incredible journey,” he said.
Vishnu Manchu, who plays the titular role of Kannappa, reflected on his personal connection to the film. “This film is not just a project for me—it’s a personal journey. I have visited all the Jyotirlingas across India, and I feel a deep spiritual connection to Kannappa’s story. It’s a soul-stirring tale of unwavering faith and sacrifice. It is a matter of pride that icons like Akshay Kumar, Mohanlal, and Prabhas have joined us on this journey,” he shared.
Director Mukesh Kumar Singh spoke about the privilege of working with such an illustrious cast. “It was an amazing experience directing legends like Akshay, Mohanlal, and Prabhas. They have brought incredible energy to their characters. This story will soon reach audiences worldwide,” he said.
With its breathtaking visuals and epic storytelling, Kannappa is one of the most highly anticipated films of the year. The teaser, which has already gained attention at the Cannes Film Festival, is set to release on YouTube on March 1. The film will hit theaters worldwide on April 25.
