Gana is a film that unfolds across two time periods, connected by a landline phone. The story alternates between 1993 and the present day, crafting a time-travel narrative that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats. Despite delays, the movie promises to be a cutting-edge cinematic experience. Dynamic Prince Prajwal Devaraj plays the lead, while Yasha Shivakumar and Vedhika star as the female leads. The film is all set for a grand release on January 31.
Produced by Parthu under the Cherry Creations banner, Gana marks his first venture into Kannada cinema. Interestingly, both the producer and the director, Hariprasad Jakka, hail from Telugu cinema. Hariprasad, who previously worked alongside Pushpa 2 director Sukumar in Tollywood, makes his Sandalwood debut with this film.
Speaking about the project, producer Parthu shared, “I am originally from Telugu cinema, and Gana is my debut Kannada movie. If this project succeeds, I am eager to produce more Kannada films. I am confident that Kannada audiences will embrace Gana when it releases on January 31.”
A Time-Traveling Family Entertainer
Parthu describes Gana as a family entertainer that blends commercial elements with thrilling moments. “Although the movie is crafted with a commercial touch, it has the strength to keep audiences glued to their seats. The trailer has already received positive responses. With its time-travel concept and a compelling story spanning two eras, the mother-son relationship in the film serves as its emotional highlight,” he added.
Releasing in Over 200 Theaters
Providing further insights, Parthu revealed that the movie was shot over 75 days with a focus on quality and richness. Major portions of the film were shot in Bengaluru and Mysore. The soundtrack, composed by Anoop Seelin, includes four songs, three of which have already been released on the Saregama Kannada YouTube channel. The trailer has also garnered appreciation. The film will release across 200+ theaters in Karnataka, offering a unique mix of commercial appeal and time-travel thrills.
