The eminent actor, director, producer, and great human being Kichcha Sudeepa, recalling his first film in 1996 – Thayavva, released the audio songs of the current Thayavva Kannada film. The songs were brought out by former KFCC President Ba Ma Harish under the Harish Audio label.
Kichcha Sudeepa received a tumultuous welcome, including a song specially composed for him by music director Anant Aryan. On this occasion, Sudeepa advised Ba Ma Harish to ensure fair payment for the audio songs. Despite the hectic travel from his residence in JP Nagar to GT World Mall, he urged producers to hold events closer to his home so that he could attend them upon invitation.
Geetha Priya, an educationist, plays the title role in the film and has also sung the folk songs. Geetha Priya, a high-profile educationist, admitted to feeling nervous standing in front of Kichcha Sudeepa but was immensely happy for his presence at the event. “Today marks the beginning of the New Year for me,” she said, looking at Sudeepa. “My singing was first appreciated by Ba Ma Harish, and then the music director tuned the songs accordingly,” added Geetha Priya.
Anant Aryan, who has composed music for socially relevant films, shared that his last project was Tarini, which dealt with the topic of female infanticide. This film, too, follows a similar concept. The producers, with no business targets in mind, ventured into this project. Aryan mentioned, “I have composed music for 11 bit songs, all of which have a village backdrop. What impressed me most was the challenge of deciding who should sing the songs. To ensure good sound quality, we sought support from Mumbai studios.”
Sathwika Pavan Kumar directed this film, produced by Amara Films and Jayashankara Talkies.
Ba Ma Harish, former KFCC President and the launch partner of the new audio label, revealed that he would support music-oriented films with strong content.
