The confidence of Kaadumale is truly admirable. Instead of focusing on regular publicity stunts, it made its media presence just one week before the film’s release.
While there are many wonders in the world, this film boasts of seven characters, each bringing a mix of spirituality and science.
The trailer for Kadumale, produced by Cosmos Movies, competently directed by Samartha, and starring actor Artha and actress Sangeetha, has been released. This is the first attempt at “Brain Scamming” in the history of Indian cinema. Kadumale explores the struggle between illusion and reality amidst the lush green environment of a dense forest. After viewing the film clips, KRG has taken responsibility for its distribution.
Speaking about the film, director Samartha said, “For a movie to succeed, it must have a strong story, and we’ve chosen just such a story for Kadumale. There are many unanswered questions in life, and one of them is this story. Kadumale is inspired by the fact that there are seven continents, seas, sounds, weeks—everything on this earth. The subtitle of our movie is ‘Brain Scamming’ because, as the title suggests, the forest is an illusion and the rain is reality. Brain Scamming refers to the state of not understanding the difference between illusion and reality. The forest is home to many strange and staggering places, one of which is Mathiketta Forest near Kodaikanal. That region inspired the story, alongside other elements,” said Samartha.
Actor Harshan (Artha in the film), who will be seen as the lead actor for the first time in Kadumale, said, “Kadumale is my first film. It’s not just a film; it’s an amazing experience. My character is knowledgeable about both spirituality and science, so I had to prepare a lot for the role. Shooting in that dense forest environment was a big challenge. This is the first such attempt in Kannada cinema, and I am happy to be part of it.” Harshan, who is filled with confidence, also shared that his grandfather, Shankare Gowda, is a theater actor, and watching him perform helped Harshan learn some acting techniques.
The film has cinematography by Raju N.M. and music by Maharaja. The heroine, Sangeetha, who is currently abroad, sent a video message. Senior actress Vijayalakshmi, Karthik, Gilli Manju, Gautham, and others are also part of the cast. Karthik Bhat penned the dialogues.
Kadumale will be released statewide on January 31. The regional censor board has suggested two cuts and awarded the film a U/A certificate.
