A film with a village backdrop and dialect, Kedarnath Kuri Farm is a mediocre mixture of the trials and tribulations of a family backed by comedy and harsh realities. The dialogues of this film, penned by Rajesh Salundi, are touching and absorbing. The dialogues appeal more to the village audience.
Shinu Sagar, in his direction of Kedarnath Kuri Farm, could have avoided the name Kedarnath and used any other name starting with ‘K’ to maintain rhythm. However, he has a strong idea to hold the audience’s attention. He uses tactics so well that they make the audience sit through the end of the film.
In this village, Kedarnath (Kari Subbu) owns a kuri farm, which is maintained by Manja (Madenur Manu). Manja has friends with bad influence, but once he falls in love with a girl from a poor family, he changes his attitude and starts to build a better life.
However, Manja smokes a strong dosage of drugs and falls unconscious. What follows is the director’s hallucination until the end of the film. In this process, various people’s ways of life are projected, which obviously irks, and the audience has to tolerate it.
Madenur Manu is natural in his acting, and his speedy dialogue delivery is the trump card of this film. Kari Subbu, as Kedarnath, could have avoided this role because he has a good stature in his career.
Shivani, as the female lead, is quite OK, and veteran comedy actor Tennis Krishna is in a pitiable role. Harini Nataraj, as the dejected mother, gives good support.
The song “Manasagide Kele Ninna Mele…” is melodious. The cinematography does not provide a pleasant feel to the eyes.
With more technical assistance, the film could have been presented in a more convincing style.
