The highly anticipated film Ronny, directed by Guru Tej Shetty and starring the handsome and popular TV actor Kiran Raj, has been generating buzz since the title launch.
Ronny, originally slated for release on August 30, has been postponed by two weeks due to the ongoing success of the films Bheema and Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi. The decision was made to avoid potential conflicts with the release of those films, ensuring Ronny gets the attention it deserves. The film is now scheduled for release on September 12. Distributor and exhibitor Chandan Suresh provided valuable advice regarding the release strategy for this high-budget film, which has been made with significant effort.
Director Guru Tej Shetty expressed his gratitude to the teams behind Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi and Bheema. He mentioned that while there was demand from distributors after they watched the film, Chandan Suresh advised that releasing it immediately might pose challenges with securing enough theaters, given the success of the other films. Guru Tej Shetty agreed that it was better to delay the release slightly to ensure a broader reach.
Ronny is a big-budget movie, and the decision to postpone was made to maximize its reach. “We want the film to be released on a large scale and reach everyone,” Guru Tej Shetty said.
Kiran Raj assured fans that Ronny would not disappoint their expectations and described it as a family entertainer. “This film is very important to me. I’ve put a lot of effort into it, and my role is unique. The story spans eight years, and I appear in two different looks,” he said.
Kiran emphasized the significance of this film in his career, stating, “This success is crucial for me. Whatever the dream or goal, having the strength to achieve it is important. If this film succeeds, it will be a testament to our belief in ourselves. Otherwise, I’ll have to start over. The producers have made this film without any compromises, and those who have seen it are pleased.”
Director Guru Tej Shetty appears to have done extensive research for this film, revising the script 18 times. He surveyed various locations like Raichur, Gulbarga, Davangere, Tumkur, Bangalore, Mysore, and more to understand the audience’s preferences. He crafted the story by incorporating commercial elements into a family film, taking into account his familiarity with viewers from his television career. “This is a family action film, and my role is unlike any I’ve done before,” Kiran Raj added.
Alongside Kiran Raj, the film features performances by Samiksha, Apoorva, Radhya, Ravi Shankar, and Mico Nagaraj. Raghavendra B. Kolar is the cinematographer for the film.
Ronny is produced by Chandrakant Pujari and Umesh Hegde under the Star Creation banner. Producer Chandrakant Pujari mentioned that while making the film was challenging, marketing it has been even more difficult.
Chandan Suresh, appreciating the film’s quality, suggested that postponing the release by two weeks would make it easier to secure 150 screens for Ronny.
With the caption “The Ruler,” Ronny aims to rule the box office and make history. Only time will tell if it succeeds.
