WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH THIS FILM ‘GURU SHISHYARU’
There are plenty of reasons to watch this film starting from the first authentic Kho Kho sports-based cinema. The groundwork of boys is extremely good.
Not just Hruday (Sharan son), Ekanth (Lovely star Prem), Soorya (Ravishanker Gowda son), Harshith (Naveen Krishna son), Rakshak (Bullet Prakash son), Manikanta Naik (politician Raju Gowda son) other team members indulged in this sports have done pretty good work.
They have sweated it out to give a competitive film. In the Indian cinema the attachment to Cricket, Hockey, wrestling, and boxing is given but not for Kho Kho… the mother of all sports.
The Kannada filmdom should feel proud and like the bigwigs film KGF, 77 Charlie, etc, this film also has the qualities of crossing across the borders.
The film’s first half is brought out in a soft comedy style. The director Jadesh Kumar of ‘Gentleman’ fame has taken the time to establish all the characters.
The village backdrop utilized for this film has strong principles such as doing well for good people is well thought out. The revenge factor of Bettadapura and Arasikere is just wanted for the screenplay.
Senior actors like Dattanna and Suresh Heblikar stand out as guiding forces. Dattanna as Guru and Sharan as Shishya later transforms into Sharan as Guru for the youths!
There are some extremely good dialogues – Dattanna telling ‘ಒಂದೂರಿನ ಕೆರೆಗಿಂತ ಹತ್ತು ಊರಿಗೆ ಹರಿಯೋ ನದಿಯಾಗಬೇಕು’ opens up the thought process of Manohara (Sharan).
The comparison of love to a pair of Chappals by a young boy seems to be so appropriate. What Suresh Heblikar says – ನಾಯಕ ಆಗ್ತೀಯ ಅನ್ಕೊಂಡಿದ್ರೆ ನೀನು ಖಳನಾಯಕ ಆದೆ, ಆಟಗಾರ ಆಗ್ತೀಯ ಅಂದ್ರೆ ಮೋಸಗಾರ ಆದೆ.. ಅವಕಾಶ ಸಿಗೋದು ಸೋಲು ಅಲ್ಲ, ಸಿಕ್ಕ ಅವಕಾಶ ಉಪಯೋಗ ಮಾಡದೇ ಇದ್ರೆ ಸೋಲು – these lines are no doubt very pertinent to the generation today.
The songs from Ajaneesh Lokanath are melodious and appear at the right time. Lazy I am too Lazy….for Sharan, Aane Madi Heluthene…for Nishvika Naidu, Hallu Dakal….when Sharan and boys follow the wrong path is well planned for the film.
Coming to Sharan – he has shown great maturity in action. He is very serious in this film and shows his exemplary approach to the role. There is not much comedy from him. His mustache, looks, and costume all jell well.
Nishvika Naidu as a village belle and milk vendor in the film has given a sweet performance. It is a sort of de-glam role that she has portrayed well.
Apoorva Kasaravalli son of Padmasri Dr. Girish Kasaravalli has given a stunning performance as Betting Kind in his Arasipura village.
After ‘Navagraha’ sons of villains in the lead (Darshan Toogudeepa, Giri Dines, Dharma Keerthiraj, Srujan Lokesh, Dharma Keerthiraj, Vinod Prabhakar, Tarun Sudhir, Nagendra Urs, and Vikram Udayakumar), in this film ‘Guru Shishyaru’ Hruday (Sharan son), Ekanth (Lovely star Prem), Soorya (Ravishanker Gowda son), Harshith (Naveen Krishna son), Rakshak (Bullet Prakash son), Manikanta Naik (politician Raju Gowda son) gather good attention.
This is worth watching for many reasons – firstly let us promote the Desi sports Kho Kho by watching this film. The drama, action, revenge, etc are well planned in the screenplay.
