“ONDU SARALA PREMA KATHE”: A SIMPLE MOVIE WITH AN EMOTIONAL TWIST

This movie, titled “Ondu Sarala Prema Kathe” and directed by Simple Suni, lives up to its name by embodying simplicity. Whether you appreciate this simplistic straightforwardness is subjective. However, it remains true to its essence as a romantic family drama experience. It invites viewers to unwind with loved ones, enjoying a tub of popcorn while immersing themselves in the story.

In the lead role of the movie is Vinay Rajkumar as Athishay affectionately known as ಅತಿ (meaning “a lot” in Kannada). Throughout the storyline encounters numerous highs and lows as he pursues his dreams of becoming a music director and finding his perfect life partner, whose heart beats in sync with his own.

Along his journey, he crosses paths with Madhura, a North Indian singer on a Kannada reality show Played by Mallika Singh (a former Hindi TV actor). Swathishta, (a Tamil film actress making her Kannada debut) as Anuraga, Athishay’s childhood friend turned journalist, also embarks on the journey, seeking her own genuine and kind-hearted companion.

The movie commences by introducing Athishay’s intricate love life, where he must choose between two romantic interests—one whom he loves and another who loves him. However, the director hints at the beginning of the movie by informing there is story beyond this initial dilemma climax so sit through fully for wholesome experience. This promise unfolds through the older characters in the film, introducing unexpected twists and emotional depth, captivating the audience until the very end.

Rajesh Nataranga and Aruna Balraj portray Athishay’s parents in the movie perform with fineness, with Sandhya Madhu Rao portraying the role of his grandmother holds key attention. Sadhu Kokila makes an appearance as himself, portraying Athishay’s boss. Additionally, the film features special appearances by Raghavendra Rajkumar, father of Vinay, in a poignant role, Karthik Mahesh, the recent winner of Big Boss, who received cheers for his cameo, and Shwetha Srivatsav from “Simple Agi Ondh Love Story,” adding an extra layer of charm to the film’s storyline.

Despite Director Simple Suni’s somewhat lackluster storytelling, his characteristic wit and humor shine throughout the film, offering audiences a familiar and enjoyable experience. While the plot may seem simple, it delivers poignant moments and unexpected emotional twists, reminding viewers of the importance of genuine connections with family and friends. The film eloquently portrays how the pursuit of ambition can sometimes cause us to overlook the invaluable moments spent with loved ones, while also highlighting the transformative power of small gestures and efforts in strengthening those relationships.
