In an intriguing development, ‘Nelson,’ a Kannada film named after the iconic peace-loving personality Nelson Mandela of South Africa (known for his adherence to Gandhian principles), has caught the attention of film enthusiasts.

According to political analysts, the title ‘NELSON’ holds a deeper meaning, referring to ‘Nelada Son,’ symbolizing the son of the soil. This is associated with HD Deve Gowda, the former Prime Minister of India, who consistently identifies himself as ‘Mannina Maga’ or son of the land.

The much-anticipated film ‘Nelson’ has recently unveiled its first look, introducing Shwetha D Souza as the female lead. Arun Kumar, the director and also an accomplished actor known for ‘Gombegala Love,’ is at the helm of the project, garnering acclaim for his previous work.

Originating from coastal Karnataka, Shwetha D Souza initiated her acting career with ‘Y’ and later featured in Kannada films like ‘Khasagi Putagalu’ and ‘Hejjaru.’

Set against the backdrop of Chamarajanagara district, the film ‘Nelson’ delves into the events spanning from 1960 to 1990, narrating a gripping gangster tale with Vinod Prabhakar in the lead role.

Produced by Deepa Films BM Sriram (Kolara), with Prajwal Gowda handling cinematography, Bharat BJ composing the music, Vijay Raj editing, and Hari contributing to the dialogues, ‘Nelson’ carries the caption ‘Rakthadalli Nenda Devarakadu.
