The auspicious ‘Garuda Purana’ holds a special place in Hindu mythology, particularly when it comes to the departure of a soul to the heavenly realm. The significance of this Garuda Purana narrative lies in its detailed explanation of the journey undertaken by the departed soul after death.

Now, this auspicious title, ‘Garuda Purana,’ has been adapted into a Kannada film. The teaser for this film was unveiled at MMB Legacy by Smt. Ashwini Puneeth Rajakumar, with the presence of esteemed guests Raju Gowda, Thipparaju, and Dayanand, who came to bless the enthusiastic team.

The film’s central theme revolves around the concept that sins committed here on Earth are inevitably punished, echoing the essence of the ‘Garuda Purana’ itself. Sindhu, from 27 Frames Creations, serves as the official producer, emphasizing that this film is not only the director’s dream but also a collective effort of the entire team. Co-producer BL Yogesh Kumar proudly displayed the fruits of their labor and urged the audience to experience it in theaters rather than waiting for an OTT release.

Santosh Karki takes on a diverse role as a police officer in the film, selected based on his performance in ‘Seesa Kaddi,’ as mentioned by the director. Disha makes her debut in the industry and expresses her contentment with the supportive and talented team.

The film’s hero and director, Manjunath Nagaba, known for his work in ‘Kantara’ as a technician, describes ‘Garuda Purana’ as a suspenseful thriller with three interconnected storylines—a tale of love, an antagonist’s journey, and a police narrative—all converging towards a meaningful message in the end.

Cinematographer Sunil Narasimha Murthy, in his third film, relishes the opportunity to experiment with his craft in this project.

Cheluvaraj, renowned for his role in ‘Bhajarangi,’ plays a pivotal villainous character in this suspenseful thriller and shares insights into the team’s collaborative efforts. Kenchanna provides comic relief in the film and emphasizes the theme that every sin carries its own consequences. Mahender Gowda contributes the dialogues, while Rakesh Acharya composes the music for two of the songs.
