It is one more feather in the cap of multilingual actress Ester Noronha. As the song line of Yogaraj Bhat, ‘Henmakkale Strongu Guru’, (Females are stronger in the film Jackie of Puneeth Rajakumar and Bhavana) proves, again and again in Kannada filmdom that females are strong in approach in this amazing field of cinema.

Among a few Kannada female directors, the list adds the multilingual actor and musician Ester Noronha to the direction field with a lot of courage and sensibilities. Ester Naronha made use of the coronavirus pandemic time efficiently and soon after the lifting of the lockdown following the guidelines completed a bilingual film in Kannada and Konkani languages with a dozen actors nearly 40 technicians.

Ester Naronha seems to be extraordinary in her first attempt as director in ‘The Vacant House’. She tried many possibilities for the silver screen. There is emotion, love, sentiment, philosophy, etc in her first pitch on the ground of the direction department. Ester Naronha with expertise in music worked on songs and background score for the film.

As the adage goes empty mind is the devil’s workshop, The Vacant House Kannada and Konkani film also showcase how difficult it is to live.

Ester Naronha a talented actress in Kannada, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil Hindi, and Konkani language films made her presence felt at the age of 8 when she staged in ‘Baby Ester’ play. Acting in seven languages and nearly 40 films Ester Noronha is always cheerful and a go-getter.

A terrific performer in front of the camera Ester Naronha’s brief appearance in ‘Lanke’ with national award-winning actor Sanchari Vijay certified that she is an able actor. She acted in Kannada films such as Navika, Usirigintha Neena Hatthira, Athiratha, Nuggekayi, DNA, and bilingual Local Train.

Sitting with her mother Janet Naronha to the left and another talented actor and director Sandeep Malani to the right at SRV Theater the beauty with brain Ester Naronha took the questions from media with ease.

Ester Noronha says she has the maturity to take up direction rather quickly in her life. She has been an avid observer of various developments of her films and my first film ‘The Vacant House’ is made without hurry and pressure she says. It is a roller coaster and thought-provoking too she adds on her lovable area of leap. She completed the shoot in 17 days and it is a concept-based movie.

Asked what remuneration she got for multi-tasking work from her mother Janet Noronha, Ester says I am priceless for my mother. Janet in her address said it was in 2017 that ‘Sophia’ a Konkani film and ‘Kantara’…a song about life got her confidence to go ahead in production.

Sandeep Malani highly talented actor, director, and organizer says it is his fifth film with Ester Naronha. On what role he has played one has to look at the film. At the farmhouse of Ester Noronha near Bantwal this film ‘The Vacant House’ is shot with a vacation atmosphere he says.
