A crow, traditionally perceived as an ill omen within our society and sometimes feared by those of religious faith, rarely assumes a character role in films. However, in the acclaimed movie ‘5 Feet 7 Inches,’ a crow played a significant and noteworthy part.

Now, in the Vishwa Productions and Atma Cinemas collaborative venture titled ‘Raaven,’ the crow takes center stage. Producers Vishwanath GP and Prabik Mogaveer are at the helm of this project, with Ved directing the film.

The film’s inaugural moment witnessed the former excise minister, Gopalaiah, initiating proceedings with the clapboard, while KFCC President Ba Ma Harish, MD Sridhar, and other luminaries graced the occasion to extend their blessings to the team.

Contrary to its conventional portrayal as a harbinger of bad luck, this film aims to shed light on the diverse roles crows play in various contexts. Filming commences on the 21st of this month, with Dilip Pai, Swapna Shettigar, and Kumkuma assuming leading roles. The supporting cast includes Suchindra Prasad, Leela Mohan, Shreya Aradhya, and others.

Ved, drawing from his experience working in the esteemed director MD Sridhar’s camp, has meticulously crafted a compelling script that convinced the film’s producers.

Kannada activist and producer Vishwanath expresses his enthusiasm for Ved’s captivating storyline, emphasizing its goodness. He eagerly anticipates the film’s production beginning on his birthday. Joint producer Prabik Mogaveer, with a decade of experience in the film industry, mentions his prior involvement in projects centered around animals. This time, the inspiration to delve into this subject came from the remarkable crow.

Well-known actor Dilip Pai shares that the crow is regarded as the divine vehicle of God Shanimahatma and is considered sacred. He emphasizes that all the characters in the film have a profound connection to this avian symbol.

Christopher is composing the film’s score, and RCT is the cinematographer for ‘Raaven.’
