Repeatedly emphasized on the silver screen is the theme of LOVE. Now, a film titled ‘Love’ is emerging with a Hindu-Muslim love story angle. It revolves around a Muslim girl who falls in love with a Hindu boy. The plot takes a dramatic turn when the Muslim girl mysteriously disappears during a tense moment, all under the direction of Mahesh A.

Securing a certificate from the regional censor board proved to be a significant challenge for director Mahesh due to the sensitive subject matter infused with action sequences. The regional censor board, after scrutinizing the film, refused to grant it a U/A certificate, leaving the director unsatisfied. Resorting to the revised committee would entail time-consuming delays, and arguing with the regional censor members by referencing objectionable scenes from other films did not yield favorable outcomes for the director. Consequently, he had to remove the contentious scene in order to secure the U/A certificate.

Furthermore, director Mahesh faced another hurdle in finding a suitable leading lady for his project. He approached several actresses, but they all had one question in common: whether the hero was a newcomer. Frustrated by such inquiries, director Mahesh devised a clever strategy when he selected Vrusha Patil. He informed her that the hero, Prajay (who was indeed a newcomer), happened to be the cousin of the well-known actor Rakshit Shetty. To sweeten the deal, he also mentioned that they had another team member who was the cousin of Rishab Shetty. This was enough to persuade Vrusha Patil to come on board. It was only after completing the film that she discovered director Mahesh’s deception regarding these celebrity connections.

A senior assistant director named Mahesh, lamenting his fate in making this film, commented that in this industry, filmmakers often have to make do with the resources available and cannot always dictate terms.

During the trailer release event of the film ‘Love,’ the release date, October 6, was officially announced. Producer Diwakar expressed his confidence in the film’s positive message, which motivated him to take on the project.

Prajai, who had worked for eight years as an assistant in the production and camera departments, was taken aback when director Mahesh revealed that he would be the lead actor in the film.

For Vrusha Patil, this film marked her debut in the industry. Despite being deceived by the director, she was ultimately won over by the compelling content of the film. Vrusha Patil holds an MBA degree and has prior experience in acting in short films.

The film also features notable actors such as Prabhakar Kundar Brahmavar from the movie ‘Kanthara,’ Satish Kanthara, Umesh Srikanth Teli, Radhika Bhat, Tilak, Prasad Bhat, Harish Shetty, Saurab Shastri, Rajat Shetty, and others.

‘Love,’ produced by Sri Kala Bhairaveshwara Movie Makers, boasts Siddarth H R as the cinematographer, Rosith Vijayan composing the song ‘Kanmani,’ and Sri Sai Kiran handling the music for the remaining songs. Shivaprasad is responsible for the background score, and Lokesh Putte Gowda serves as the film’s editor.

‘Love’ was filmed in picturesque locations, including Udupi, Kota, Kundapura, Baindur, Bagalakote, and Bengaluru. BK Gangadhar is responsible for distributing the film across Karnataka.

It’s worth noting that there was a Kannada film titled ‘Love’ in 2004, starring Aditya and Rakshita, directed by the nationally acclaimed director SV Rajendra Singh Babu.
