Kannada cinema has seen several films made with different animals and birds at the centre of their stories. However, there have not been many films made so far with a crow as the central subject. Vishwanath G. P. has produced “Raven” under the banner of Vishwa Productions. Vishwa Productions has entered the Kannada film industry as another promising production house. The film is directed by Vedh. In this film, the crow itself is the hero.
Recently, the trailer and title song launch event of the film was held in a grand manner. Action Prince Dhruva Sarja unveiled the trailer. D. S. Max’s Dayanand, former President of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce and producer B. A. Mahesh Harish, and Rashmi released the title song.
The crow is the central character of this film. The crow also has a connection with Pitru Paksha. Hence, it is special that the trailer and title song of this film have been released during Pitru Paksha. After the trailer and song launches, the guests and members of the film team spoke.
“The trailer of this film is good. Pitru Paksha has already begun, and the unveiling of the trailer of this film about a crow is appropriate to the occasion. I wish the film success as well,” said Dhruva Sarja.
“Raven” means crow. Generally, it is believed that one should take a bath if a crow touches them. If it sits on a vehicle, the vehicle itself should be changed. A crow should not enter the house. It is considered a bird associated exclusively with Shraddha rituals. There are many such beliefs in practice. But the good quality that a crow possesses is rarely seen in other birds. If it gets a handful of rice, the crow is the only creature that calls its entire flock and eats together. This film has been made with such a crow at its centre.
Technically, our film is very rich. The CG work will attract everyone’s attention. All the activities related to the film have currently been completed, and it will hit the screens in November. This is a fictional story. Dileep Pai and Dev Devayya have played the lead roles. Swapna Shettigar, Rani, Suchendra Prasad, Leela Mohan, Dinesh Mangalore, Vishwanath G. P., Chaitra Ram, Raghavendra and others have acted in the film. The film has shaped up well with the cooperation of the artistes and technicians. This is my second directorial venture. I thank the producer for giving me this opportunity,” said director Vedh.
“I am an entrepreneur as well as a Kannada activist,” said producer Vishwanath. “I thank Dhruva Sarja, Dayanand, B. A. Mahesh Harish and Rashmi for unveiling our film’s trailer and title song. I liked the story narrated by the director and therefore decided to produce the film. This film will be released in November. It will be released in Kannada, Chinese and Korean. It will also be dubbed into Telugu, Tamil and other languages. Efforts are being made to release the film not only in India but also overseas. I have written the title song that was released today. I have also acted in the film,” he said.
“I have acted in this film after a long time. The crow is the vehicle of Shani Mahatma. This is a film about such a crow. The real hero of this film is the crow. I am only its co-actor,” said lead actor Dileep Pai.
“As Dileep said, the crow is the real hero of this film. My character is also very good,” said actor Dev Devayya.
Lead actress Swapna Shettigar, music director MAD D, actress Chaitra Ram and cinematographer Rakesh C. Tilak, among others, shared information about the film. Singer Chetan Nayak and several other members of the film team were present at the press conference.
