The North Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce will organize an International Film Festival on August 22 and 23 at Alur Venkatrao Sabh Bhavan, Dharwad. Recently, the office bearers of the North Karnataka Film Chamber provided more information about the festival.
The North Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce was established in 2014. In 2022, the Chamber organized an International Short Film Festival. Now, in 2026, it is organizing an International Film Festival.
Entries are invited in the categories of Feature Films, Short Films, Documentaries, Telefilms, and Album Songs. Separate entry fees have been fixed for each category. Interested participants can submit their films, short films, and album songs on or before August 5.
A jury will watch all the submitted entries and select a few for screening. The selected feature films, short films, telefilms, and album songs will be screened during the International Film Festival.
The awards include: Best Feature Film – Cash prize of ₹25,000 along with a trophy. Best Telefilm – Cash prize of ₹20,000 along with a trophy. Best Short Film – Cash prize of ₹15,000 along with a trophy.
Best Video Song – Cash prize of ₹10,000 along with a trophy.
In addition, every participating entry in all categories will receive a memento and certificate.
Feature films released between 2020 and June 2026 are eligible to apply for the festival.
The festival will be held on August 22 and 23 at Alur Venkatrao Sabh Bhavan, Dharwad. Eminent personalities from politics, cinema, and various other fields will participate in the two-day event, said Manjunath L. Hagedar, President of the North Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce.
Festival Director Nagendra Magadi said, “I served as a jury member at a film festival in 2016, where I had the opportunity to watch many excellent films. Every artist hopes to receive recognition and encouragement for their talent. A film festival is an ideal platform for such individuals.”He further explained that in this International Film Festival organized by the North Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce, only the first prize winners in each category will receive cash awards along with trophies.

Haveripet, General Secretary Rahul Dattaprasad, Treasurer Kiran Siddapur, Organizing Secretary Praveena Kulkarni, Advisory Committee member Dr. Suresh, and other office bearers were present at the press conference and shared details about the International Film Festival.
