The car and two horns (Kodu) are also main characters in the film Bully, which has completed its first schedule of shooting. On the closing day of the first schedule, which also happened to be the final day of shooting for top actress Urvashi, the media visited the spot at Kanteerava Studio.
The title of the film was also revealed on this occasion. In addition to that, Urvashi’s daughter Teja Lakshmi is making her debut in Kannada cinema. It is a mother-and-daughter combination in Kannada cinema.
According to director Anoop Antony, this is a comedy flick about a mother and son. They share a special bond and belong to a middle-class family. What happens when the loan they take to lead their life becomes difficult to repay is the issue discussed in this film. Veteran director and actor Om Prakash Rao is playing the moneylender in the film. “We have completed the first schedule of shooting,” said Anoop Antony.
According to Om Prakash Rao, who plays the moneylender, the film has many funny moments, and his quarrels with Urvashi’s character are an interesting part of the story. After Dakota Express in Kannada cinema, the team wanted Om Prakash Rao for this character, and he readily agreed to be a part of it. At the media meet, in a jovial manner, Om Prakash Rao took Bhouvan Ponnanna and Harshika Poonachcha to task, and it looked hilarious. Urvashi, sitting next to Rao, controlled him.
According to Bhouvan Ponnanna (he was earlier known as Bhuvan, and there is a change in his name as suggested by a numerologist), the dream of six years has come true. “It was six years ago that I discussed with my wife Harshika that I should act with all the top actors during my cinema career. The first name that came to my mind was Urvashi Madam. I tried contacting the top actress several times, but after six months I got an appointment to brief her about the film Bully. I am very thankful to Urvashi Madam for accepting the role. In fact, she is the main lead of the film,” he said.
“I share a lot of screen space with Urvashi Madam. I play her son in the film. We both have ‘Garva’ in being middle-class, and so we have put that horn on both sides of the title. This is a fun-assured film for all age groups. I thank Praveen, Akarsh, and another friend for pushing me to take up this film. We have many more days of shooting left. My wife Harshika, despite being eight months pregnant, has taken a lot of time to work as the executive producer of this film, and her immense happiness in making this film a success is a great advantage,” said Bhouvan Ponnanna.
Huli Karthik felt extremely happy to be acting with legends in this film. He will be seen in the company of Bhouvan in the film. Master Arya, popular on the small screen and studying in the second standard, thanked the team for the opportunity and felt everyone should watch the film in theatres to know about his role.
With Bhouvan Ponnanna and Urvashi in the lead, the film also stars Om Prakash Rao, Prakash Tumminad, Huli Karthik, Akarsh, Raghavendra, Soumya, child actor Arya, and others.
The production of the Samruddh Studio team is led by Naveen, with executive producers Akarsh and Harshika Poonachcha. Guruprasad Narnad wields the camera, while Champakadama Babu is the production manager of the film Bully.
