Songs often play a crucial role in a film’s success, alongside a compelling story, strong performances, and effective filmmaking. After Male, Dhairyam, and Dil Pasand, director Shivathejas is once again aiming to captivate audiences with the first song from his upcoming film Partner.
Starring Brinda Acharya and Krishna Ajai Rao in the lead roles, Partner explores contemporary themes such as Gen Z relationships, breakups, and live-in relationships. Through the film, director Shivathejas seeks to convey that life is about much more than these modern-day experiences.
Following the positive response to its first look, the makers have now unveiled the film’s first song, “Amora”, which means “I Love You.” Penned by Nagarjuna Sharma, the track is composed by Nakul Abhyankar and sung by Kunal Ganjawala, marking his return to Kannada playback singing after a decade.
The song was launched at a special event where producer Harish Devitandre’s former teachers, actor Nagabhushana and his wife, officially released the track on stage.
Speaking at the event, actor Ajai Rao said, “Partner is a film that is very close to my heart. I have poured a part of my heart into it. Some films create a special magic from the very beginning, and this is one of them. I am extremely confident about this movie. It beautifully portrays human values and emotions and carries the emotional depth that has always been a hallmark of my films.”
Director Shivathejas said, “My friendship with producer Harish began during Dil Pasand. Everyone has a partner in life, and with that thought, combined with Gen Z themes, I have made this film. Amora has also been created especially for today’s younger generation.”
Producer Harish Devitandre said, “If I am standing here today, the credit goes to my mother and my wife. We have made a film that families can watch together without any hesitation. Anand Audio has acquired the audio rights for an amount equal to nearly 50 percent of what Ajai Rao’s films generally receive for satellite rights.”
Lead actress Brinda Acharya said, “Amora is one of the best songs of my career. I feel fortunate to have worked with such a wonderful team.”
Music director Nakul Abhyankar revealed that Amora was selected from ten compositions. Lyricist Nagarjuna Sharma said the song presents a refreshing perspective on finding love. Choreographer Murali and actor Aravind Rao also shared their experiences of working on the film. The song was filmed in the scenic locations of Puducherry.
Partner has been extensively shot in and around Bengaluru and is currently in the post-production stage. The film is produced by Harish Devitandre under the H.P.R. Enterprises banner. It features cinematography by Sujnan and editing by K.M. Prakash. The soundtrack comprises four songs, with lyrics by Kaviraj, Pramod Maravante, and Nagarjuna Sharma.
