The granddaughter of the illustrious writer, filmmaker, and iconic literary figure P. Lankesh, Isha Kavitha Lankesh is all set to make her debut in the world of cinema.
Isha is the daughter of noted Kannada filmmaker Kavitha Lankesh. She will be making her acting debut in the yet-to-be-titled film directed by popular filmmaker and writer Preetham Gubbi. The film is being produced by Shivaraj Kanaganapalli under the Navisha Films banner and marks the production house’s second venture.
Having already earned considerable recognition in theatre, Isha has undergone extensive training and preparation for her transition to the big screen. The film has generated high expectations, not only because it marks Isha Lankesh’s acting debut, but also because it is being helmed by Preetham Gubbi, who is known for directing several critically acclaimed and commercially successful films.
Director Preetham Gubbi has currently revealed only the film’s leading lady, while the project remains untitled. He has stated that more details about the film, including the cast and crew, will be announced in the coming days.
Preetham Gubbi is best known for writing the screenplay for the blockbuster Mungaru Male. During his two-decade-long career in the Kannada film industry, he has directed more than 11 films and has also established himself as a producer.
It may be recalled that P. Lankesh’s grandson, Samarjith Lankesh, the son of acclaimed director Indrajith Lankesh, made his acting debut in the Kannada film ‘Gowri’ and is now looking to expand his career into Hindi cinema.
