Even on the small screen, titles get repeated. Take the latest version of Agni Saakshi on Colors Kannada, which is set to premiere on June 8 at the 7 PM slot.

The same title was used for a super-hit television serial in 2013, which went on to set a benchmark in Kannada television. What is remarkable is that Harris, who wrote hundreds of episodes for the earlier Agni Saakshi, is also the story writer for this latest version.

This is not a continuation of the earlier serial. Instead, it is a high-voltage story centered on the clash between ego and self-respect among today’s young generation, says director Prashanth while answering questions from the media at MMB Utsav Legacy on Wednesday. The title may be the same, but the narrative is completely different.

The love-hate relationship between Agni and Saakshi is portrayed convincingly. “If they come before each other, they can’t tolerate one another; if they don’t see each other, they can’t live!” This unique thread of love forms the essence of the story.

Writer Harris describes this as yet another dream project. Director Prashanth has previously worked on television serials such as Ramachari, Muddulakshmi, and several others during his career. Agni Saakshi will also be available for streaming on Jio Hotstar.

This time, Agni Saakshi revolves around the conflict between two completely different personalities—two opposite poles. Agni (hero Shamanth) is not just a storm that destroys everything; if anyone challenges his ego, he becomes the fire that burns everything down. This stubborn businessman, backed by wealth and immense pride, is brought to life by singer and actor Shamanth Bro Gowda.

Saakshi (heroine Varshini Gowda) is the cool breeze that calms everything. However, when she stands against injustice, she becomes the light that shows the way through darkness. Actress Varshini Gowda plays this strong-willed young woman who never compromises on her self-respect, regardless of the circumstances.

How their destinies unite at the wedding altar, and where the battle between the ego of this fire and the ideals of this breeze leads them, forms the core of the entire series.

Akshata plays Mallika, while popular big-screen and small-screen actor Mithun Tejaswi appears as Agni’s father, sharing a love-hate relationship with his son. Lekhana as Aditi, Srikanth, and several others are part of the cast of this mega serial.

Harris, the writer of the earlier super-hit Agni Saakshi serial, has penned the story for this version as well. The serial promises top-quality production values and rich visual grandeur.

Introducing a new dimension to relationships, Agni Saakshi will premiere on June 8 and will be telecast every evening at 7:00 PM on Colors Kannada from Monday onwards.
