The muhurta and title unveiling of the new film produced and directed by Manjunath T.R. under the banner of Raya Films, starring Pramod Shetty, Shruti Hariharan, and Rajesh Nataranga in lead roles, was held at Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt in Rajarajeshwari Nagar.
The film, which has a unique storyline, has been titled “NH 66.” Actor Ugram Manju and several dignitaries, along with members of the film team, were present at the ceremony.
“I worked in the direction department under senior director Bhargava. Later, due to circumstances, I went abroad. There, I did a detailed study of scriptwriting and screenwriting. Now I have returned and started my first directorial venture. Being a devoted follower of Rayaru, I am also producing this film under the banner ‘Raya Films,’ named after him. As the title ‘NH 66’ suggests, it is a road story. It is also a thriller drama. When I narrated the story to Pramod Shetty and Shruti Hariharan, they liked it and agreed to act in the film. Rajesh Nataranga will also be seen in a prominent role. The story takes place over two nights during a journey from Mangaluru to Goa and revolves around three or four characters. The tagline of the film is ‘One Highway. Many Secrets.’ Shooting will begin in Mangaluru from April 6. The film has cinematography by Suneeth Halageri and music by Swaminathan,” said producer-director Manjunath T.R.
“I liked the story narrated by Manjunath. As he said, it is a road story with a thriller backdrop. I am playing the role of a cab driver. I am very happy to be acting alongside Shruti Hariharan and Rajesh Nataranga. Manjunath, a devotee of Rayaru, has started his first directorial project in the presence of Rayaru. May Rayaru bless him,” said actor Pramod Shetty.
“I really liked Manjunath’s passion for cinema and the way he narrated the story. I have acted in many films so far, but I am playing a role in this film that I have never done before. I am happy to be acting alongside Pramod Shetty,” said actress Shruti Hariharan.
