The film “Elra Kaleliyatte Kala,” directed by Sujay Shastry—who has gained attention as a comedy actor—and produced by Govindaraju under the banner of Gokul Entertainers, features renowned singer and music director Chandan Shetty as the lead. The movie is scheduled for release on April 17. Prior to that, the team has released a song titled “Mathu Madhura” through Anand Audio. Following the song release, members of the film team spoke about the project.
Director Sujay Shastry said that the release of the film was delayed due to certain reasons, but now the right time has arrived. He explained that the story is set in the 1990s, with most of the shooting done in Kanakapura. The film highlights the importance of time. The story is written by his friend Rajaguru Hoskote, and the title aptly complements the theme. This marks Chandan Shetty’s debut as a lead actor. Archana Kottige plays the female lead, and the cast also includes Dattanna, Tara Anuradha, and Manju Pavagada. He added that the song “Mathu Madhura” has been released today, composed by Praveen-Pradeep. Producer Govindaraju has ensured there were no compromises in production. He described the film as a family comedy and requested audience support for its April 17 release.
Chandan Shetty said this is his first film as a lead actor, and he prepared extensively for the role, even gaining weight for the character. He mentioned that the film emotionally portrays the importance of valuing time and what can happen if one fails to do so. He also expressed that the newly released song is very good. The promotional song for this film is sung by Chandan Shetty the ace rapper of Karnataka.
Producer Govindaraju stated that this is the third film from their production house and that it carries a meaningful message. He urged audiences to watch the film in theatres.
Music directors Praveen-Pradeep revealed that the film contains five songs. The released track “Mathu Madhura” is sung by Darshan Narayan and Anuradha Bhat. Four songs are styled in the 1990s era, while one is a promotional song sung and composed by Chandan Shetty himself.
Archana Kottige shared that her character’s name is Vasantha, and she plays a mess owner in the film. Writer Rajaguru Hoskote also spoke about how the film began and elaborated on the story.
