The trailer of First Night with Devva, starring Pratham in the lead, was released recently at a launch event. The film, directed by P. V. R. Swamy, is scheduled for a statewide release on April 3. Pratham has written the story and screenplay of the film in addition to acting in it. Senior actor Srinivasa Murthy, who is also part of the cast, unveiled the trailer.
Speaking at the event, Pratham said that the film’s dubbing and satellite rights have been sold for a good price. He described the project as a horror-comedy focused on entertainment. The story revolves around a man who gets married and later discovers that his wife is a ghost. The narrative follows whether their first night takes place or not.
Director P. V. R. Swamy said that although Pratham is known for his speaking skills, his character in the film has minimal dialogue. He added that the film was completed with the support of the team. Swamy, who has worked for many years as a cinematographer in the Kannada film industry, has handled both direction and cinematography for this project. He noted that this is the 53rd film in his career as a cinematographer and his fifth as a director. He said the film was shot over 30 days and features actors including Mimicry Gopi, Tukali Santosh, and Sushmitha in impactful roles.
Actor Nikhita Swamy, who plays Pratham’s wife, said she appears as an innocent girl whose character undergoes changes and is portrayed in two different shades. Srinivasa Murthy said he has acted with actors from earlier generations as well as the current one and did not observe significant differences. Mimicry Gopi stated that both Pratham and Swamy made him work until early morning hours and also had him perform mimicry.
The film’s music is composed by Advik Varma, and the songs have received a positive response. The regional censor board has granted the film a U/A certificate. Harish Raj appears in a villain role. The cast also includes Sushmitha, Jeevitha, Srinivasa Murthy, Ramesh Bhat, and Tukali Santosh. Naveen and Puneeth are serving as executive producers.
In the film, Tukali Santosh plays a character who has returned from abroad and accompanies the protagonist. Sushmitha appears in the role of a ghost. Nagesh Narayan has handled editing and written the dialogues. The film includes two action sequences choreographed by Thriller Manju.
