Director-actor Aryan Tejas is now bringing to the screen a story about the bond between a father and son titled “Naanu Karunakar.” Coming from a theatre background, Aryan Tejas has not only directed the film but is also appearing as the lead actor.
Earlier, Aryan Tejas had directed “Park Road 100 Rupayi,” a film based on the education system. He had reportedly prepared this story even before the COVID period. Later, when he narrated it to his friend Naman Narayan, he liked it and came forward to produce the film.
With the intention of delivering a good Kannada film, Vaibhav Suresh and friends have joined hands in producing this movie. Santosh and Srikanth have also collaborated on the project. The trailer and songs of the film were recently released at an event.
‘Naanu Karunakar’ is a film that connects with everyone’s life. It revolves around the bond between father and son, as well as the relationship between husband and wife. The film has completed all its work and is ready for release, and will hit screens across the state on April 3.
Produced under Popcorn Cinema Productions, the film stars Aryan Tejas as the lead, Radha Bhagavathi (of Bhargavi LL.B fame) as his wife, and Master Bhaveesh as their son. Others in the cast include Karisubbu, M.K. Math, B.M. Venkatesh, Apoorva, and many more.
Speaking at the event, actor-director Aryan Tejas said that there is a “Karunakar” in every household. The story reflects the lives of middle-class families. The film has been shot in Mysuru, Melukote, and around Yelahanka in Bengaluru. It portrays the struggles of an assistant director trying to support his family. He added that he plays the role of a family head in the film.
Actress Radha Bhagavathi said this is her fifth film and that she plays a middle-class housewife. While acting in this film, she was reminded of her childhood days. Her character has aspirations to achieve something big, but sacrifices her dreams for her husband and son and supports them.
Producer Vaibhav Suresh said that making a good film had been his dream for many years, and it has been fulfilled through this project. Along with Naman Narayan, he has produced the film. He added that the story revolves around how children trouble their father and what the father does for them.
Another producer, Naman Narayan, said that the director is his longtime friend. When he heard the story, it reminded him of his own father. He dedicated the film to all such fathers. He also mentioned that Bhavana Belagere personally called and appreciated the film, offering her support. He added that Srinagar Kitty has given voice-over for the trailer.
Lokesh, who plays the role of a friend, and Karisubbu, who plays a painter, also spoke about the film.
