The Kannada film O Sundara Rakshasi, directed by Sheraj Mehdi, is set to release in theatres on February 13. Produced by Surinder Kaur under the Sky Is The Limit banner, the film marks Sheraj Mehdi’s return as both actor and director. Ahead of the release, the film team shared details about the project at a pre-release event.
Sheraj Mehdi, who has been active as an actor, director, music composer, and writer, plays the lead role in the film while also handling the direction. Speaking at the event, he stated that the film has been structured to maintain audience engagement throughout, with multiple twists woven into the narrative. He added that the cast, including Kruthi Varma and Vihansi Hegde, have contributed significantly to their respective roles, and said the film is expected to appeal particularly to women audiences.
Writer and dialogue writer Bhashya Sri said the film is based on the idea of how today’s young women should shape their lives. He noted that the film focuses on contemporary perspectives and is designed to leave audiences with a positive emotional takeaway after watching it.
The film is described as more than a conventional love story and addresses the challenges faced by young women in today’s society and their responses to those situations. Actress Vihansi Hegde, speaking at the event, said the core idea of the film reflects how betrayal can transform beauty into something harsh. The narrative focuses on themes related to women’s self-confidence and decision-making, supported by emotional sequences and dialogue intended to connect with female viewers.
Apart from Sheraj Mehdi, the cast includes Kruthi Varma, Suman, Neha Deshpande, and Thammareddy Bharadwaj. Sheraj Mehdi has also composed the music for the film. According to the film team, the screenplay progresses at a fast pace with frequent twists designed to sustain audience interest.
O Sundara Rakshasi is scheduled for theatrical release on February 13.
