A new film is being produced under the collaboration of Dynamic Ventures and Puratana Film Productions. Actor Prajwal Devaraj has taken up film production with this project. The film has been titled “MGR.” The title and first-look poster of the film were launched on Wednesday evening on the occasion of the birthday of the film’s lead actor, Pranam Devaraj.
Senior actor Devaraj attended the event as the chief guest and extended his wishes to the team. Speaking on the occasion, he said he became a producer after completing 30 years in the film industry, while his son has taken up production within 10–12 years of his career. He stated that cinema is the only field they are familiar with and that there is always an urge to continue working in it. He also mentioned that this is the second film being produced by Puratana Films in association with his son.
Commenting on the first-look poster, he said he was surprised by Pranam’s appearance and noted that he is seen in a mass look. He also spoke about music director Charan Raj, stating that his songs retain their essence, and mentioned that DOP Krishna Muttanna has worked well on the film. He added that it is satisfying to work with people who understand their approach.
Puratana Films executive producer Divya Keshav said she is happy to be producing the film along with Prajwal Devaraj. Director Srikanth Hunsur said this is his second film with Pranam after Muttanna. He stated that the meaning of the title MGR will be revealed in the coming days. He added that the team has attempted to present Pranam in a different manner and acknowledged that while the title may raise questions, the concept has been handled clearly.
Producer Prajwal Devaraj said the film is centered entirely on Pranam, with the rest of the team providing support. He stated that the story is set in the year 2005 and that the muhurat is planned either by the end of March or around Ugadi. He also said that their banner aims to provide opportunities to new talent.
Actor Pranam Devaraj said he is happy that his brother is producing the film. He stated that MGR marks a new phase in his career and that the character involves emotional scenes, humor, and action. He added that his appearance and body language will be different and that he is undergoing preparation for the role. The film features cinematography by Skating Krishna and music composed by Charan Raj.
