The trailer of the Kannada film Amruta Anjan was released by senior actress and former MLC Jayamala at a function held at Utsav Lagasi, located in GT Mall, Bengaluru. The film is scheduled for a statewide release on the 30th of this month.
Amruta Anjan is directed and created by a team of young talents. The project follows the short film Amrutanjan, which had earlier received a large number of views on digital platforms. Encouraged by the response, the team has now come forward with a full-length feature film.
Speaking at the event, Jayamala said she attended the trailer launch at the request of Lokesh Nagappa, who had invited her earlier to a school function run by him. She recalled being introduced to Sudhakar, a student of the school, who had shown strong interest in cinema. She stated that she had advised him to complete his education before entering the film industry. She also mentioned watching a comedy web series made by Sudhakar’s team, which had received around 2.5 crore views. Jayamala noted that the film is releasing on the 30th and requested the audience to watch and support the work of the young team.

Producer Lokesh Nagappa said Sudhakar had studied in his school and expressed happiness at seeing his growth. He stated that several people had questioned his support for Sudhakar, citing his temperament, but he believed Sudhakar possessed determination and would progress. He clarified that he is not the sole producer and that another individual has co-produced the film. He said he did not enter the project expecting financial returns and had advised the team to focus on improvement and effort rather than outcomes. He also acknowledged Jayamala’s presence and support at the trailer launch.
Director Jyothi Rao Mohith said the feature film originated from his short film Amrutanjan. He described Amruta Anjan as a comedy-based film with approximately 80 percent humor and 20 percent emotional content. He stated that the film includes elements such as love, friendship, relationships, two songs, and action sequences. He added that the team worked extensively to present the story in a realistic manner. The film is being released through Jayanna Films.
Actor Sudhakar Gowda said the team’s progress was largely due to the guidance of Lokesh Nagappa. He stated that after studying at Lokesh’s school, he completed engineering before entering films as an actor. He said he had chosen to speak about his mentor only after reaching this stage. He also acknowledged the support extended by Jayamala during the event and stated that the team had progressed from the ground up.
Actor Gaurav Shetty said the film has turned out as planned and described it as a comedy-oriented entertainer. He mentioned that he plays the role of a drunkard in the film and requested audiences to share feedback after watching the trailer. He reiterated that the film releases on the 30th.
Actress Payal Changappa said filmmaking is challenging, especially for newcomers. She thanked the director for giving her an opportunity and stated that she had earlier acted in the short film and now plays the character named Uri in the feature film. She added that the film includes a love story, a college-based narrative, and family-oriented content.
Actress Sri Bhavya said she had contributed ideas during the short film and continued to do so during the making of the feature film. She stated that the entire team worked collectively on the project and requested audiences to watch the film.
Actors Karthik Ruvari and others associated with the film shared their views during the event. Lyricist Venkatesh Kulkarni also spoke. Senior actors Naveen D. Padil and Madhumathi appear in the film. Cinematography is handled by Sumanth Acharya, editing by Kiran Kumar, and background music by Rohith Shovar. The film, produced by a group of young talents, is set to release across Karnataka on the 30th.
